This web site is provided by the City of Duluth, Minnesota, Duluth Workforce Development. The office provides a number of employment, job training, and career assistance programs for individuals who are out of work or who have suffered job loss for a variety of reasons. It also provides information for employers who may be considering employing individuals who have participated in these programs.

The programs and services of Duluth Workforce Development are free of cost to all participants.

The Y.E.S. Duluth program provides Education and Employment Services for youth 16-21 years of age. The program can provide to eligible applicants the following services:
- Individualized tutoring to help you achieve your GED or High School Diploma
- Connections to employers for work experience opportunities
- GED/High School Diploma
- Funding for Training
- Help with College enrollment
- Gain work experience
- Career Guidance
- Job Search skills (Resume writing, Cover Letters, Interviewing, Follow-up)
- GED payment vouchers
- Clothing, gas vouchers, bus passes
- Summer Jobs Program provides short-term summer employment to provide participants work experience opportunities with local employers.

The Senior Employment Program helps workers 55 or older build the experience and confidence they need to find permanent employment. You may qualify if you are:
- 55 or older
- Income eligible
- Unemployed and seeking employment
- A resident of Duluth, MN
- Veterans and their spouses are encouraged to apply
As a participant you can benefit from:
- Paid training
- Work experience
- Extra Income
Senior Employment Program participants serve their communities while gaining valuable on-the-job training through paid temporary assignments with local non-profit and government organizations, including:
- Schools
- Libraries
- Social service agencies
- Hospitals
- Senior centers
- Museums

Duluth Career Service provides Career Employment Services, which for eligible enrollees, offers assistance with:
- Career Planning and related services
- Job Search and related services
- Job Training and related services
- Job retention, follow-up, and related services.
Participants must be 18 years old or older, meet family income guidelines, be a U.S. Citizen or naturalized citizen or a legal alien with a permit to work in the United States. Male participants born after 1960 must be in compliance with Military Selective Service requirements, and you need to have a willingness and ability to make a commitment to staying in regular contact with a Job Counselor while in the program.

If you have lost a job through no fault of your own you may need some help returning to work. The Dislocated Worker Program offers free services to help individuals find suitable re-employment -- and help take the stress and uncertainty out of the process.
